Schwarzenegger Apologizes for Ethnic Comments

You know this doesn’t seem to surprise me.  It seems to be a trend among Republican these days to make discriminating comments. People in the republican party were quick to scold Andrew Young, Harry Belfonte and Kanye West, but become deaf when their political counterparts.  Republicans like Ann Coulter and Pat Robertson consistently make ignorant racist comments and no one says nothing.  And to think the person who he was talking about, republican Bonnie Garcia would defend these ignorant comments.

Garcia, who parents were born in Puerto Rico, told the Los Angeles Times she wasn’t bothered by the characterization.

“I love the governor because he is a straight talker just like I am,” she said. “Very often I tell him, ‘Look, I am a hot-blooded Latina.’ I label myself a hot-blooded Latina that is very passionate about the issues, and this is kind of an inside joke that I have with the governor.”

Garcia needs to rethink her remarks.  If she didn’t feel offended, she does not speak for all people of Hispanic decent.  What does her ethnicity have to do with her ability to serve public office?  How could she possible think that?  And the comment about “black blood” is not only offensive it further proves that some people in main stream America continue to marginalize and undermine people of color; especially black people.

Cubans and other Latinos rally behind the republican party thinking that the GOP is their key to freedom and equality in this country are sadly mistaken.  This is evident by the lack of attention congress gave towards the immigration issue.  the conservative elitist in that party could care less about them.  They use them to fill jobs that underpay and a vote for them.  Garcia its time to wake up, you just got racially bitched slapped.  And you looked completely stupid standing side by side with Schwarzenegger supporting this idiot….
