Lorraine C. Miller: Living African American History

This woman has just made history.  Since the inception of the Office of the House Clerk, there has never been an African American appointed to this high position.  as House Clerk she will manage the largest staff on the hill.  Hell her office is bigger then the Speaker’s office.

Ms. Miller is President of the Washington, D.C. NAACP Chapter.  Speaker Nancy Pelosi has named her Clerk of the United States House of Representatives.  Ms. Miller is the first African American ever appointed to hold this high position in the House.  Feb. 2007, has been a very productive month for African Americans, what a great gift for Black History Month.  We will continue to break down barriers!
