Paris, Texas: Just doesn’t Get it

To Some in Paris, Sinister Past Back.  This is an understatement.  A 14 y/o black girl was arrested, and convicted in a court of law to a juvenile detention center until she is 21 for pushing a hall monitor.  In a neighboring town, a white teenager was charged with arson for burning her family’s home to the ground and received probation.  Can someone please explain to me how this could happen in 2007?

The hall monitor was not seriously injured, and even though her actions warranted disciplinary action, 7 years in a detention center was over the line and it is obvious that the great state of Texas is stuck in a time warp.  This is a prime example of how in this country we are culturally conditioned to believe that Whit is superior and black inferior, and the manifestation of this conditioning causes black people to be undervalued, underestimated and marginalized.
