Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam: Working on CP Time

abdulsalaamroberta.jpg

Am I reading this correctly?  Georgia State Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam came late for a committee meeting on a bill that she sponsored.  The bill she sponsored would allow a portrait of Coretta Scott King to hang in the Capitol building.

Why was she late your asking?  Well read below…..

Hill’s panel adjourned just moments before Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam (D-Riverdale) walked into meeting room Friday morning. She said she was late because of heavy traffic.

Abdul-Salaam caught Hill’s attention as he was leaving: “You are all finished?”

Hill responded: “We adjourned… We called the bill and you weren’t here. It’s seven minutes after. And we met at 8 o’clock. My committee members all left. They all had other meetings.”

Abdul-Salaam: “The traffic out there is horrendous. I got out of my car on Trinity [Avenue] and ran down here.”

Abdul-Salaam failed to show up at another Special Rules Committee hearing on her resolution on March 19, citing an illness.

This woman has the nerve to complain about her bill not being taken seriously and it is her fault.  How do you show up late for a special committee hearing??  She knows the traffic in that area, she should have left her house early.  A couple of weeks prior, she called out sick and was not able to attend another meeting on the same damn bill!!! What a fool.  Now she wants to cry foul???  Please, she gets no love from Native Son…..

  1. Yo Native if her mother or father is still alive then they shoudl rip her a knew one. Antics such as hers are extremely embarassing it reinforces a terrible stereotype about black folks.

If she were in your distric what would you do.

  2. Roberta Abdul- Salaam is the new Cynthia McKinney!

  3. Gary:

    LOL

  4. In a larger sense, Coretta Scott King should be applauded for continuing her late husband’s life work, but with a resolution or something similar. A portrait and a state holiday seems a bit much. Aren’t there any more pressing and worthwhile projects on Rep. Abdul-Salaam’s agenda, let’s say, directly affecting her district, for example? Such coat-tail clinging borders on the tawdry. How about a substantive bill that really benefits your constituents? Puh-leeze . . . .

  5. I am leaving Clayton county!! she is offensive and by her statements not very bright

  6. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT REP ROBERTA ABDUL-SALAAM WHO WAS UPSET OVER A RULING THAT SHE WAS LATE FOR (CORETTA SCOTT KING PROPOSAL) HAD GOT DROPED…. SHE HAD THE NERVE TO TURN AROUND AND SAY “IT’S LIKE CALLING MS. KING A NAPPY HEADED (NWORD)!!!!!!!! HOW IN THE WORD CAN THIS WOMAN STAND UP AND SAY THE THINGS THAT THE BLACK PEOPLE GET UPSET ABOUT AND NOT HAVE ANY REPERCUSSION…… BUT NOT A WORD WAS SAID……. I’VE HAD ENOUGH AND I’M GOING TO STAND UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF ALL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!! HOW CAN ONE PERSON IN THE PUBLIC EYE LOSE THEIR JOB WHEN MS ROBERTA SAID THE N WORD ON THE NEWS AND THERE NOT BE ANY REPERCUSSION ……WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE IS THAT……

  7. Native why do we keep voting these clowns in office.
