First-Grader Killed While Crossing Street in NE

My heart goes out to the family of this little girl who was struck by a car yesterday in N.E. Washington, D.C.  I read this story in the Washington Post.  Too often we hear about this tragic hit and runs, but this should also be another wake up call and reminder to parents as well.

This child was 6 years old.  You don’t watch a 6 year old cross the street, you walk them yourself.  I hope they find this idiot who hit this little girl.  Parents please wake up!

  1. Yo Native I live about 10 minutes by bike near that area. That is a very high speeding traffick area which can be dangerous. Anyway you are correct generally speaking parents should walk thier children across streets.

Until enough black folk get together and began to demand and create a more thoughtful and better world I think you should get use to the madness. Until life, learning and respect for all human biengs are placed at a premium just get used to it.

This is all too common in this area. Especially people wh live in the city. You can not have little kids crossing the street without and adult.

mark bey: You shouldn,t but way to many black people have proven themselves to be irresponsible as parents. Also these hit and runs have been a problem in our communities for too long, it is an obvious example of how little value our people place on human life.

  5. That’s a horrible general statement about black people being irresponsible parents. I take offense to it. There are irresponsible parents all over PERIOD.
