FEMA Knew About Toxic Trailers

What we all ready suspected has come to light now.  FEMA is a complete mess.  How much more of the Bush Administration can we take?  Remember when Bush told Brown he was doing a good job at FEMA?  A Good job at what?   A good job In providing bootleg living quarters for Katrina survivors and totally screwing up the recovery mission.

According to the Washington Post, The Federal Emergency Management Agency since early 2006 has suppressed warnings from its own field workers about health problems experienced by hurricane victims living in government-provided trailers with levels of a toxic chemical 75 times the recommended maximum for U.S. workers, congressional lawmakers said yesterday.

So now we are having Congressional Meetings getting the horrible details, but there is still no real plan on how to restore New Orleans.  No plans on how to make sure that the residents who want to return and rebuild, get a chance to actually do that.  We are spending 12 billion dollars a month in Iraq, but can’t even spend a fraction of that to help the people of the Gulf Coast…..

  1. we’re too busy bombing the shit out of third world countries and taking away everyones rights to care. that’s the message i get from it all.

  2. More evidence that the current administration does not care for people of color or just poor people in general. And even more evidence that anything the Bush administration tries to do ends up in shambles. We waste all of that $ in to “free the Iraqi people” only to become more hated in the Middle East, while we continue to oppress own citizens back here in the states.

  3. And the moral of the story is, you can’t give other people what you don’t have yourself. With all the inequality and injustice in America, there is no way we can go over to another country and instill the seeds of democracy. We have no credibility in the eyes of the rest of the world.
